These are some murals that I've been asked to do at my church. I've decided to go with "bible stories" throughout the theme in the children's wing. I was asked to make it bright/colorful, fun for the children & inviting. Color is one of my favorite things in art. The more colorful, the better!
It's so rewarding to see the children go back there, point out the characters, name them, smile with joy because they LOVE it! What a blessing it has been.
The 1st set of photos are of Noah's Ark:
Noah's Ark story summary:
God saw how great how great wickedness had become & decided to wipe out mankind from the face of the earth. However, one righteous man among all the people of that time, Noah, found favor in God's eyes. With very specific instructions, God told Noah to build an ark for him & his family, in preparation of a catastrophic flood that would destroy every living thing on earth.
God also instructed Noah to bring into the ark 2 of all living creatures, male & female, along with every kind of food to be stored for all the animals & his family while on the ark. Noah obeyed everything God commanded him to do .
After they entered the ark, rain fell on the earth for 4o days & nights. The waters flooded the earth for 150 days & every living thing was wiped out. As the waters receded, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. Noah & his family continued to wait for almost 8 more months while the surface of the earth dried out.
Finally after an entire year, God invited Noah to come out of the ark. Noah built an alter & offered up some sacrifices to God. God was pleased with his offerings & made a covenant with Noah to never again flood the earth. As a sign of this covenant, God set a rainbow in the clouds.
